Dutch giants grant World Cup star exit wish.
Manchester United have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Ajax utility man Daley Blind after the Dutch side confirmed that they will not stand in his way should he decide to move on, according to the Metro.
United have been in talks to sign Blind in the last few days and reports yesterday suggested a deal was very close, with the Dutchman already in England to house-hunt.
And now Ajax have confirmed that they will not stand in the player’s way should a deal look as though it could be completed, freeing him up to make the move to Old Trafford.
“If there is a certain amount of money on the table for Blind, we won’t refuse,” said manager Frank De Boer.
“The temptation is there to go if such a big club comes in for him.”
It is thought that Ajax are holding out for a fee of around £15m for the defensive midfielder-cum-left-back, as they will also look to replace him before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
