The Premier League could miss out on one of the world superstars linked with a move to these shores, with a trip made by Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira to watch his brother play for RB Leipzig, rather than be involved in his side’s Spanish Super Cup defeat to Atletico Madrid, sparking speculation that he could be set for a move to Bayern Munich, report the Mail.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with a move for the box-to-box World Cup winner, who looks set to leave the Bernabeu after new contract talks broke down, although it is the Gunners who seem to have the most firm interest and need for a central midfielder.

Bayern, however, are also expected to dip their toes into the market, having sold Khedira’s international teammate Toni Kroos, to Real Madrid, and having lost Spanish international Javi Martinez to an injury that could end his season.

Khedira would seem like a sensible solution for Pep Guardiola, as an undoubtedly world class talent and player with Bundesliga experience, but the former Barcelona boss is reported not to be sold on Khedira.

Bayern may move for him anyway, however, with Guardiola not always getting his way on transfers at the Allianz Arena – as the departure of Kroos showed.
