Miranda has also been the subject of interest from Chelsea.Atletico Madrid defender Miranda is set to disappoint several potential suitors in the Premier League by declaring his desire to stay in the Spanish capital, the Daily Star reports.
The centre back was linked with a move to several Premier League clubs during the summer, including Manchester United and Chelsea however, the Brazilian claims he was never interested in a move to England and is happy to remain with the La Liga champions.
“I think that it’s normal footballers to leave the club when they have found success,” said Miranda.
“Staying at Atleti was the best for me and my family. I’m very happy to be at Atleti. I love Madrid and this is a great club.”
Despite the likes of Diego Costa and Filipe Luis leaving the Vicente Calderon this summer, Miranda feels Atletico have an even better squad than they did last season.
”The club has made several great signings. We’re reinforced every aspect. I’m happy that Tiago returned.
”I think the key to this season will be how fast we adapt and show what we can do.
”Siqueira is a player who is on the same level as Filipe. I’ll be anything that the new players will bring the fans a lot of joy.”
Despite missing out on the 29 year old in the summer, both Manchester United and Chelsea may reignite their interest in Miranda during the January transfer window.
