Caravella returns to Newcastle after being granted a release from the club earlier this year to pursue non-football interests in Queensland.
The midfielder saus his time away from the sport has given him a renewed desire to play at the top level again.
“I want to do what I love and what I enjoy and that’s playing football at the highest level I can,” he said.
“I know most of the boys at the club and I know the city of Newcastle, so that will allow me to feel comfortable and settle in right away.
“I’m excited be back with the Newcastle Jets and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.”
Jets manager Phil Stubbins said the club was happy to welcome back the 31-year-old who left Newcastle to live in Cairns to help run a family-owned backpackers resort.
“Zenon’s decision to come back to the Newcastle Jets is great news for us,” he said.
“After speaking to the staff and people I respect in the game, I think Zenon will come in and enhance what we’re trying to do as a Club this coming campaign.
“He’s someone who understands the landscape and everything associated with the Newcastle Jets, so hopefully we can embrace the qualities Zenon has to offer moving forward.”
Caravella has stayed match-fit by playing with Queensland NPL side FNQ Heat.
