Sporting Kansas City were dumped out of the CONCACAF Champions League last night.
They lost 2-0 to Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa, heading out by virtue of their results against each other.
Heiner Mora gave Saprissa the lead after 22 minutes, and Ariel Rodriguez doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time.
The result means the US only has one representative in the quarter-finals – DC United. Mexico have two – Pachuca and Club America, while Costa Rica have a record three entrants – Deportivo Saprissa, Cruz Azul’s conquerors Alajuelense, and Herediano.
