The ice is being used to mitigate any further damage to his knee following a the serious damage he did to it last January. That knee injury was the third of his career.

The Colombian signed on loan for the club for £16 million in the summer. He is also thought to be on at least £190,000 a week while in Manchester.

With the striker currently having to fight off competition to regain his place in the first team at Old Trafford, this revelation will not make the enormous amount of money spent on him in the summer seem any less extortionate.

This news will also come in handy when United decide whether to sign the forward permanently in the summer. He has currently only made five appearances since arriving in the Premier League, scoring one goal. He will need to improve on that if he is going to get a permanent deal.
