Bernabeu side plot sensational Nou Camp raid.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly dreams of signing Barcelona star Lionel Messi for the club, and could be plotting a move for 2016, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Argentine forward has been at the Nou Camp for his entire career so far after coming through the club’s famed La Masia youth academy, and is now regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time.
It is extremely rare for players to move between Real and Barca, two of the most fierce rivals in world football, though there have been notable exceptions in the past.
It is claimed that Real president Perez has tried to sign Messi in the past, though a specific date is not given, and it is also suggested that he could try again to do so in the future.
Interestingly, this news follows recent speculation that Barcelona could make an equivalent move to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from their rivals, in another extremely surprising transfer story.
Messi and Ronaldo’s rivalry for the title of best player in the world over the years has only been intensified by their playing for the El Clasico duo, and it would be a major shock if the two were to swap places.
