Fairfax Media claim Dundee United chairman Steven Thompson has been in advanced talks with the Jets, and is also contemplating investing in Adelaide United.

A separate News Corp report claims Thompson also met with the Western Sydney Wanderers, Sydney FC and Perth Glory.

While Jets owner Nathan Tinkler remains keen to sell, the club made the decision not to comment on takeover reports.

“All discussions regarding the future ownership of the club will understandably be kept confidential and are expected to continue over the coming months,” the statement read.

“No announcement on a new owner is imminent.”
