Atleti have supposedly turned down a bid for the 19-year-old totalling £17.5 million. This is just a year after he was bought by the Spanish club for £750,000 from Danubio. The club hierarchy have recently revealed that they are £400 million in debt, and it has subsequently been rumoured that they may have to sell some of their stars in order to balance the books.
However, this news will be welcoming for those at the club, with it showing that they will at the very least demand a high price for any players that they let go. There have also been transfer rumours swirling around several of their other key players. Diego Godin and Koke have been linked to moves to Manchester United and Barcelona respectively.
