In what would be one of the more complicated transfer deals of the January transfer window, AC Milan want to swap hapless Spaniard Fernando Torres for Atletico Madrid’s struggling Italian Alessio Cerci, reports ESPN.
Torres though is only on loan at AC Milan, meaning any deal would have to be sanctioned by Chelsea.
With the Premier League leaders only interested in somebody who will pay his enormous wages though, they’d likely let him sign a temporary deal with any club.
If Torres did switch his loan club from AC Milan to La Liga champions Atletico, the Spaniards could in turn lend Cerci – who only signed in the summer – in the opposite direction.
The 27-year-old has flopped in Spain, bagging just one goal so far in all competitions following his transfer.
Cerci would likely jump at a move back to Italy, and Torres would surely love to move back t hiso boyhood club, following years of poor form.
Providing Chelsea play ball – this swap deal makes sense for all parties.
