The mother of football fan John Uyaban contacted the striker three months ago with a desperate plea to help the 17-year-old, who has a rare blood type.
She told him that the paid had been searching for a donor for the past two years, and to their amazement, the striker stepped in to help track down a new heart for the boy.
“Falcao said immediately he’d set to the task of finding a heart,” she told the Colombian media.
“We don’t know how he did it, or who brought the heart, but he did it.
“We thank God that everything went well.”
Uyaban underwent his operation this week and is believed to be on the road to recovery, and will be allowed to return home at some point over the next 20 days.
