Red Devils want to sign Dinamo Kiev central defender Aleksandar Dragovic.
Manchester United are set to step up their January pursuit of a new central defensive option by launching a £15 million move for Dinamo Kiev central defender Aleksandar Dragovic, report the Express, with the Red Devils hoping that they can secure a deal to bring the Austrian international to Old Trafford this month.
The 23 year-old’s career has gone on to another level since he made a surprise move to the Ukrainian Premier League from Swiss champions FC Basel, with Dragovic’s left field career choice propelling him into the thoughts of top European clubs including United.
Dragovic already has 35 senior caps for the Austrian national side to his name and is part of something of a ‘golden generation’ in Austrian football alongside the likes of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba and Stoke City forward Marko Arnautovic.
One of the most frustrating aspects of United’s season so far has been their inability to field a consistent back line, due to both injuries and the tinkering of manager Louis van Gaal, with Dragovic clearly targeted to add another ever-present to what tends to be a changeable defence.
