Premier League clubs interested in Marseille star Nicolas N’Koulou.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are amongst the clubs considering a move for Marseille central defender Nicolas N’Koulou, report the Daily Star, with the player currently away at the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon after a fine first half of the season with the Stade Velodrome club.
The long-serving Marseille defender, who has been with the club since 2007, is out of contract at the end of the season and is looking increasingly unlikely to stay with Marcelo Bielsa’s side, opening up the possibility of a move to one of a number major European clubs.
West Ham United are also linked with N’Koulou by the report, with Sam Allardyce’s Hammers having to step up their attempts to replace likely departee Winston Reid, but any intervention from the major Premier League trio namechecked is likely to scupper the Hammers’ plans.
Arsenal’s interest comes despite their imminent move to sign Villarreal centre back Gabriel Paulista, perhaps making a move to Chelsea or Manchester United more likely, as interest in the Cameroonian intensifies during the final week of the transfer window.
