With both sides sitting marginally outside the top six, a win for either the Mariners or Roar would go a long way in the quest for a spot in the A-League finals.

Central Coast will come into the game full of confidence after defeating the high-flying Adelaide United last week, but the loss of key striker Mitchell Duke to the J-League will force coach Phil Moss into a reshuffle in the attacking third.

The Mariners will be boosted by the inclusion of former Adelaide winger Fabio Ferreira into the squad, and Duke’s departure means it’s likely he’ll start.

The Roar also head into Friday’s clash on the back of a win after Frans Thijssen’s side after defeating the struggling Newcastle Jets 2-1 at Hunter Stadium.

New signing Andrija Kladurevic is set to get his chance at some stage in this one, but may have to settle for a bench role to begin with following the goalscoring form of Jean-Carlos Solorzano.

This match will have a big say in the fight for a finals spot.
