The teenager has netted at an astonishing rate for the Conference side’s reserve team.

And Lewis’ incredible form has seen him acquire the attention of a number of clubs but United look in pole position after offering him an Old Trafford trial, report Daily Mail.

The move for the teen comes just weeks after United captured defender, and former Man City trainee, Sadiq El Fitouri from non-league Salford City FC.

And Lewis looks to be the next name to make that step up after securing a trial with the Red Devils.

Lewis may well be keen to leave Southport as soon as possible with the Conference side threatening to fall even further down the footballing ladder as they sit just one point shy of the relegation zone.
