Jose Mourinho has managed player when he was in charge at the Bernabeu…
Raphael Varane has become unsettled at Real Madrid, alerting Chelsea and Manchester United according to the Daily Mirror.
The centre back is behind both Sergio Ramos and Pepe in Carlo Ancelotti’s pecking order at the Bernabeu, and seems to only play when one of the pair are injured. Despite this it could still cost any side £25 million to sign the player, who is under contract until 2020 and has made 26 appearances this campaign.
Jose Mourinho was manager of Los Blancos when they signed the 21-year-old in 2011. He is now interested in the defender as a replacement for the ageing John Terry. Meanwhile Louis van Gaal dearly needs to improve his back line as they have had to rely on the amazing form of goalkeeper David De Gea for the majority of this season.
