Marco Medel, from Santiago Wanderers, entered the game as a sub and injured himself almost immediately.

Chile has surely set a new world record with the injury for Marco Medel; it’s almost certainly the fastest injury in the history of football.

Medel joined the action with the clock at 54:38, and after just 5 seconds felt a twinge and had to come back off.

Tests revealed that the player suffered a tear in his left calf.
