Johann Carrasso was injured against Rennes and now faces three weeks out.
Things have just got harder for Ligue 1’s bottom club Metz with the news that goalkeeper Johann Carasso faces three weeks out of action.
Carrasso started for Les Grenats on Saturday away at Stade Rennais as the side were defeated 1-0.
The goalkeeper made an error in the build-up to Paul-Georges Ntep’s 20th-minute opener for Les Rouges et Noirs and was replaced soon after, visibly in some discomfort.
David Oberhauser took his place between the sticks and will now look to step in for the next few matches, following new that Carrasso needs time to recover.
France Football reported that the stopper has a muscle problem.
Venezuelan striker Juan Manuel Falcon also faces six weeks out of action after tearing a muscle in his leg.
Metz, rooted in 20th place in Ligue 1, appear to be destined for the second tier. Having accrued 22 points from 28 matches they remain nine points off safety.
