Arsenal and Manchester United will miss out on a potential summer move for Lucas Biglia, as the Lazio midfielder looks set to sign a new deal with the Serie A club, according to the Daily Star.
The Premier League teams were amongst many keen on the 29-year-old, especially after contract discussions with his current side seemed to stall earlier in the season.
However, the prospect of potentially paying as much as £20m for someone approaching their 30th birthday, appeared to deter them both.
But, news that Biglia is set to tie down his future in Italy will put an end to any transfer speculation, and arguably any future chance of the Argentinian international moving to the Premier League.
Biglia has been in good form this season, making twenty league appearances – with a decent return of two goals for the defensive midfielder – and helping Lazio into a Champions League qualification spot with not long left in the current campaign.
