The Ivorian’s magnificent year continues with the opening goal against Metz.
Saint-Etienne were not particularly impressive during the first 45 minutes against Metz in Ligue 1 and indeed, could have been behind. However, in Max-Alain Gradel, they have a player in the form of his career.
The Ivorian opened the scoring on 38 minutes, finishing with ease from inside the box after excellent work down the right from Romain Hamouma.
Admittedly, the Metz marking was slack, but they were unfortunate that the ball fell to the inform attacker.
Gradel found the net last weekend against Lorient to settle that contest and is looking unstoppable in Ligue 1 at the moment.
He scored twice and contributed one assist for the Cote d’Ivoire in Equatorial Guinea as the Elephants romped to the African championship and has hit the ground running.
His effort against Metz made it four goals in four consecutive games for the ex-Leeds United man. Simply superb.
