Chelsea took a huge leap towards the Premier League title today with a 1-0 victory against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge thanks to an Eden Hazard goal.
The Red Devils started well and full of confidence from a recent run of form which has seen them mount a late title challenge, with captain Wayne Rooney spurning a decent early opportunity.
Despite that, it was Chelsea who got the all important breakthrough with a tidy finish from PFA Player of the Year contender Eden Hazard.
Chelsea and Hazard continued to carve out chances into the second half and were unlucky not to double their lead with an effort which came back off the woodwork.
As the game wore on, Manchester United tried to work their way back into the game, but floundering Colombian forward Radamel Falcao couldn’t force the attempt goal-wards.
Chelsea managed to hold on to their slim lead to extend their advantage at the top of the Premier League to 10 points with only six games to play before the end of the season.
