6) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Goals: 12

Assists: 6

In a season disrupted by injuries and some surprisingly poor form form Borussia Dortmund overall, it’s perhaps not a great shock that Marco Reus has not hit his usual heights, though Manchester United may still feel the German international is well worth pursuing, as he looks a better bet than the likes of Angel Di Maria at the moment.

5) Roberto Firmino (Hoffenheim)

Goals: 12

Assists: 9

A superb young talent currently with Hoffenheim, Roberto Firmino has caught Manchester United’s eye this season and it’s easy to see why with some fantstic displays and impressive stats in terms of goal contribution. As well as that, the Brazilian can fill a number of different attacking midfield roles and would clearly suit Louis van Gaal’s style of play.

4) Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

Goals: 17

Assists: 8

A player who has shown what he can do in the Premier League, Gareth Bale might not have made quite the same impact at Real Madrid, but continues to deliver plenty of end product with a perfectly strong goal contribution of 25 in total, though he is surely the most expensive player on this list.

3) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

Goals: 25

Assists: 1

Not as much of a provider as some of the others on this list, but Antoine Griezmann has a Cristiano Ronald0-like habit of producing great scoring statistics from out wide, enjoying a superb first season with Atletico Madrid. The Frenchman also scored 20 for Real Sociedad last season and could be the source of goals to help replace underperformers like Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao.

2) Memphis Depay (PSV)

Goals: 24

Assists: 4

With 28 goals contributed overall, PSV starlet Memphis Depay is another who could be better suited to playing upfront or perhaps in a front three for United, showing lethal finishing in the Eredivisie. The Dutchman is also the youngest player on this list and has plenty of time to improve even further.

1) Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg)

Goals: 15

Assists: 22

An incredible all-rounder who has been a revelation for Wolfsburg this season, former Chelsea attacker Kevin De Bruyne could be a superb fit at Old Trafford, showing he can reach double figures for goals whilst also setting up plenty for his team-mates. Statistically, the Belgian looks the best bet of the lot, but which player will United prioritise?
