In a season disrupted by injuries and some surprisingly poor form form Borussia Dortmund overall, it’s perhaps not a great shock that Marco Reus has not hit his usual heights, though Manchester United may still feel the German international is well worth pursuing, as he looks a better bet than the likes of Angel Di Maria at the moment.

A superb young talent currently with Hoffenheim, Roberto Firmino has caught Manchester United’s eye this season and it’s easy to see why with some fantstic displays and impressive stats in terms of goal contribution. As well as that, the Brazilian can fill a number of different attacking midfield roles and would clearly suit Louis van Gaal’s style of play.

With 28 goals contributed overall, PSV starlet Memphis Depay is another who could be better suited to playing upfront or perhaps in a front three for United, showing lethal finishing in the Eredivisie.
