Old Trafford side
Man United have been linked by the Daily Mail with moves to bring in three Borussia Dortmund talents.
This source suggests that the Old Trafford side could move for a trio of Westfalenstadion talents, no doubt looking to take advantage of Jurgen Klopp’s imminent departure, with Ilkay Gundogan, Sven-Bender and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all being prospective targets.
The midfield trio offer a wide range of attributes with Armenian Mkhitaryan being the most advanced of the Man United targets, offering a real threat in the final third.
Gundogan has the presence of mind, and stature, to get stuck in and hold a central midfield berth but is of great use still as an excellent distributor of the ball.
Louis van Gaal looks likely to secure a Champions League berth and with it the chance to target Europe’s top targets and the club’s midfield may well be a useful place to start any squad re-building process, especially given Man United’s shocking display against Everton last weekend.
