The 20-year-old has failed to live up to expectations in this campaign after impressing when David Moyes was in charge. In 17 Premier League appearances the youngster has failed to score or create a singly goal, albeit with ten of them being from the bench.
The winger has found himself behind both Ashley Young and Angel Di Maria in the pecking order for the Red Devils. The Belgian has also played out of position on numerous occasions, with van Gaal sometimes using wing-backs which the midfielder isn’t suited to.
The Toffees have made habit of bringing in loan players to supplement their squad under Roberto Martinez, with Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry both earning permanent contracts at Goodison Park after their temporary deals. Januzaj could follow a similar path, but will also want to avoid ending up like Christian Atsu. The Ghanaian has been on loan at the Blues from Chelsea this season, but has made little impact with the Merseyside club.
