Arsenal have reportedly agreed a £24m fee for long term target Morgan Schneiderlin according to reports surfacing on Twitter.

The 25 year old French international has been strongly linked with a move away from Southampton for some weeks and Arsene Wenger is known be a big admirer of the battling midfielder.

Though last term Francis Coquelin impressed a great deal when he was ushered into the first team set-up it’s clear that the North London side could still do with recruiting another strong defensively minded player to patrol the centre of the park.
Schneiderlin has spent seven years at the south-coast side, helping the St Mary’s outfit climb from League One to the upper echelons of the Premier League, and a move to Arsenal will offer the former Strasbourg man his first taste of Champions League action.
Arsenal are close to completing the capture of Chelsea keeper Petr Cech and the signing of the Czech Republic international as well as Morgan Schneiderlin would go some way to assisting the club’s push to mount a genuine Premier League title challenge in 2015/16.
