The player’s agent Batur Alt?parmak has revealed that a deal has been agreed ‘in principle’ between the Citizens and this could be their first signing of the summer. It will be bad news for Chelsea, who had been linked with a £7 million move for the 18-year-old by the Metro.

“An agreement in principle has been reached,” his representative said. “Bursaspor have given Enes permission to join Manchester City and undergo a medical.”

Even were he to complete the deal, however, it remains extremely unlikely the youngster will get a chance in Manuel Pellegrini’s first team in the near future; the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, and Wilfried Bony should keep the teenager away from the squad. Ünal will, however, likely be part of their development squad, who lost to Chelsea in the final of the FA Youth Cup last season.

Although young in age the striker does have some experience in senior football. He has featured 35 times for Bursaspor over the last campaign, although only one of those games have been starts. He has impressed enough, such as becoming the youngest player to score in the Super Lig, to earn a cap for Turkey, and made his debut against Luxembourg last March.

In youth internationals Ünal has also shown his ability, managing 24 goals in 25 games for the Under 16s, as well as one in three for the Under 18s and one in four for the Under 21s.
