After back-to-back Champions League losses and zero wins against either Liverpool or Chelsea to date, Arsenal are a bit of a funk. But Arsene Wenger is confident he can reverse his team’s fortunes against Manchester United.
According to the Metro, Wenger maintains that his team can win the Premier League since they’re only a few points away from the table lead and will take the spot with a win over Man United on Sunday.
‘If I tell you now that we are three points behind Man United, playing Man United at home and I don’t believe that we can win the Premier League, what do you tell me? You will slaughter me,’ Wenger said.
The Arsenal boss made reference to his club’s stellar 5-2 win over Leicester City as a reference to their ability to win – a match that featured goals from all three of Arsenal’s leading scorers, Alexis Sanchez (hat-trick), Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud.

‘We play in the Premier League on Sunday. We have just won 5-2 at Leicester, so I don’t see why we should be absolutely down. We are on the back of three or four results in the league.
‘I don’t see why we should not believe we can beat Man United.’
Arsene Wenger was keen on ignoring his club’s most recent 1-2 home loss to Olympiacos in the Champions League though.
Arsenal have won three of their last four matches in the Premier League after starting the season with a 1-1-1 record after the first three fixtures. If Arsenal can defeat Man United they would immediately secure the No. 3 spot on the table with the possibility of moving into No. 2 depending on how much they win by.
