Turkish giants keen to rival Bundesliga outfit for Chelsea defensive talent

Papy Djilobodji‘s inconsequential stay at Chelsea could soon be at an end according to Turkish Football, with Besiktas keen on signing the centre-back.

The Blues’ failure to sign John Stones during the summer prompted Jose Mourinho to move for FC Nantes defender Djilobodji who, while an established Senegal international, never truly looked like being more than a stop-gap measure at Stamford Bridge.

In truth, he has failed to even be that, and despite the side’s troubles this season—not least in defence—the West African has made scant impact on the Blues side.

Indeed, he’s featured only once for the Pensioners this season—a solitary substitute appearance in the League Cup.

According to Turkish Football, Besiktas are keen to sign the able centre-back, and quote LigTv who report that the Black Eagles are planning talks with the west London side in the coming days in order to seal a move for the towering defender.

L’Equipe have reported that Stuttgart are also keen on the defender, and may look to rival Besiktas for the west African’s signature.
