Bizarre £2.7m signing manages just ONE MINUTE for Chelsea before being dumped to Germany

Papy Djilobodji will go down as one of the strangest signings in Premier League history.

The 27-year-old made only one appearance for Chelsea after his £2.7m arrival from Nantes – a 60-second cameo off the bench in September’s illustrious Capital One Cup victory over Walsall!

And now the surrendering Premier League champions have shipped him off to Germany, with Werder Bremen announcing that they have signed the central defender on loan until the end of the season.

Sacked Blues boss Jose Mourinho admitted that he had never seen Djilbodji play when the former Senegalese international arrived from Nantes on transfer deadline day this summer.

And he obviously was not impressed with what he saw in training as he refused to use Djilbodji in the Premier League despite Chelsea’s horrendous defensive struggles throughout the season.

Guus Hiddink seemingly thought just as badly of Djilbodji, naming him in only one of his matchday squads before sanctioning a loan move that will surely end his bizarre Blues career.
