Leicester target 24-goal hitman as more potential reinforcements are identified

According to reports, Leicester City have scouted Pescara frontman Gianluca Lapadula, with Claudio Ranieri targeting the frontman as a potential summer addition.

The Foxes only lifted the Premier League title on Saturday—the conclusion of perhaps the most amazing story in the history of sport—yet already Ranieri appears to be planning for the challenges ahead next season.

As reported by the Mirror, Lapadula is being considered by Leicester, with Ranieri clearly seeing something in the 26-year-old frontman, who has bagged 24 goals for Pescara in the Italian second tier this season.

While it would demand a lot of Lapadula to step up from the Italian second tier to the Premier League—let alone the Champions League—the Foxes’ track record of plucking talents from obscurity and making them into stars suggests that they have the expertise to pick the right kind of players to make the difference at the King Power Stadium.
