Trabzonspor have joined the race for Lazio midfielder Ogneyi Onazi according to his agent Stephen Makinwa.
The agent told Emre Sarigul that there is interest from Super Lig giants Trabzonspor. Makinwa has now confirmed that both Besiktas and Trabzonspor are keeping tabs on the Nigerian international.
“Trabzonspor are also interested in Onazi,” Makinwa said.
The agent also confirmed that there are other clubs interested although he did not reveal any names.
“There are many clubs interested in Onazi right now,” he added.
Makinwa also recently confirmed that Super Lig champions Besiktas also have the 23-year-old midfielder on their radar.
“Onazi has years of Serie A experience and is just 23 years old so interest from clubs is normal. What I can say is that Besiktas are one of the sides interested,” he added.
The agent did reveal that there has been interest from England although he did not reveal the names of the clubs involved.
“There are many clubs interested in the Onazi including from England,” he said.
Talksport recently linked Sunderland West Ham with a move for the 23-year-old midfielder.
The report also states that Everton, Southampton, Swansea and Greek giants Panathinaikos are also reported to be interested in the midfielder.
The 2013 African Cup of Nations winger made just 22 appearances for his club last season in all competitions and has another two-years remaining on his current contract.
