Liverpool transfer news: Ogenyi Onazi wanted by Klopp as coach seeks midfield dynamism

Liverpool are looking to make a deadline-day move for SS Lazio’s Ogenyi Onazi, according to Caught Offside‘s sources.

Our insiders have reported that Jurgen Klopp is keen to add further dynamism to his midfield ahead of the final months of the season, and sees Serie A star Onazi as an ideal addition to give his tired squad the lift they need.

The Merseyside giants have been stretched in recent weeks as they continue to fight on multiple fronts, and will now have to meet West Ham United in an FA Cup replay after only managing a 0-0 draw in the first leg against the Hammers.

The rematch will be the last thing Klopp wants, with the German coach having already fielded a shadow side in the first match against the Irons, with the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager looking to rotate his options following the Anfield heavyweights’ Capital One Cup exploits.

Onazi has previously been eyed by both Everton and Liverpool, and his openly acknowledged his desire to move to the Premier League during his career.
