Arsenal set to miss out on yet another transfer

Arsenal look set to miss out on yet another transfer target this summer after Oguzhan Ozyakup expressed a desire to remain at Besiktas.

The north London based club were linked with a move for their former midfielder by the Daily Star earlier this week. However, the Turkish outlet Milliyet have revealed that the 23-year-old has no intention of leaving Besiktas this summer.

Arsenal’s only major signing this summer has been Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, leaving many Gunners fans feeling frustrated. Arsene Wenger’s side have missed out on signing both Jamie Vardy and Gonzalo Higuain leaving them short in attack going into the season.

Ozyakup joined Besiktas from Arsenal in 2012 in pursuit of first-team football and has gone onto become one of the most sought after players in the league. The Turkey international played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title last season scoring 10 times and providing eight assists.
