Sunderland star wanted by former head coach Dick Advocaat

Former Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat was appointed Fenerbahce manager last week and has made his first priority transfer target Black Cats winger Jeremain Lens according to Turkish sports newspaper AMK.

The report claims that Advocaat wants Lens who he knows all too well having coached him in the past.

Lens joined Sunderland last summer on an £8 million move from Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev but struggled to settle in contributing to just six goals all season – three goals and three assists.

The Black Cats are however, now coached by David Moyes who did include Lens in his pre-season France tour.

Lens put on an impressive display recently against Borussia Dortmund providing Lamine Kone with an assist in the 1-1 draw.

The 28-year-old Netherlands international does have another three-years remaining on his current contract.

The Yellow Canaries are keen on signing a replacement for Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic and Valencia winger Luis Nani who left the club over the summer.
