Loan manager plans to turn young Chelsea winger into central striker after impressive scoring stats in League Two

Twenty-year-old former England youth international Alex Kiwomya is one of countless Chelsea players currently out on loan.

And Kiwomya is doing very well for himself up at League Two Crewe Alexandra.

Playing as a winger, Kiwomya has scored five goals in 12 games for the Cheshire side.

Kiwomya has impressed Crewe manager Steve Davis with his pace and goals, so much so that Davis is now planning on converting him into a central striker.

Davis told the Stoke Sentinel: “We are looking to keep Alex beyond January and if we were to use him down the middle we would look to bring in another quick winger which would enable us to do that and give us the threat in behind which I feel is important in this division.”

Despite representing England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels, Kiwomya has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea at senior level.

However, he was won two FA Youth Cups and one UEFA Youth League with Chelsea’s highly-decorated junior sides.
