Chelsea star has more assists than Paul Pogba and Arsenal playmaker in just two Premier League starts

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas registered an assist in his side’s 3-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday, his second of the season in just five games.

The Spaniard was given a rare start by Antonio Conte, and he linked up with Diego Costa as the pair combined to grab an equaliser for the visitors.

It wasn’t the first time this season that the same duo struck as they did so against Watford at the start of the campaign which gave Fabregas his first assist, and he now has two in just 177 minutes of playing time in the Premier League.

That sees him surpass both Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil, with the pair still stuck at just one assist so far this season.

As noted by Sky Sports, United splashed out £89m on Pogba this past summer and will have expected much more from the Frenchman so far this year while it’s been a strangely quiet campaign for Ozil thus far from an assist perspective.

The German international has improved his goalscoring consistency, but he’ll hope to pick things up and become a more decisive figure in the final third from both standpoints.
