Meeting today: Man City set for talks regarding £45M-rated European maestro

Man City are set to hold talks with the ‘environment’ of PSG and France midfielder Adrien Rabiot on Wednesday, who is set to stay with the club this season.

This is according to RAC1, who note that the midfielder’s ‘surroundings’ have stated that the 23-year-old will be plying his trade with the French giants this season, and that the player is looking to run down his contract and leave PSG on a free.

Rabiot, who PSG are willing to sell for a fee of £45M (€50M) as per Don Balon, would be a superb signing for Man City, especially if they were able to snag him on a free.

Man City are set to meet today with Rabiot’s ‘environment’

With Man City already having one of the most stacked squads in Europe, it’s fairly puzzling to see why they’d want to bring in Rabiot, even if it was on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old would struggled to get game time under Pep Guardiola as he’d be competing with the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Bernardo Silva for a starting spot in City’s midfield.

It’ll be interesting to see how City’s meeting with Rabiot’s people goes, and whether it’s successful enough to see them become a serious candidate in the race to potentially sign the Frenchman in the near future.
