Wrexham ace Harry Lennon forced into surprise early retirement

Wrexham’s promotion dream has been soured slightly with the news that Harry Lennon has had to retire from football at the age of just 28.

The defender joined Wrexham on a one-year deal last summer, but has been unable to keep on playing due to problems with injuries.

Wrexham have just won promotion with the help of their Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, but this is certainly disappointing news for the Welsh club after a memorable campaign.

A club statement read: “We would also like to wish Harry Lennon the very best, following his decision to retire as a result of the injuries he has suffered.”

Lennon also had spells with Cambridge, Gillingham and Southend earlier in his career, and featured 17 times for Wrexham before hanging up his boots.
