Tottenham confirm they have reached an agreement with club for versatile defender

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the transfer of their academy talent, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster, to Finnish club HJK Helsinki.

The agreement, reached between the two clubs, sees Lyons-Foster departing Spurs on a free transfer, although a sell-on clause has been included in the deal.

The deal appears to have been finalised on a free transfer, although Spurs have inserted a sell-on clause in the deal.

The transfer has been announced by both the clubs. The statement from Spurs on their website stated:

“We have reached agreement with HJK Helsinki for the transfer of Brooklyn Lyons-Foster.”

Meanwhile, the player also spoke with his new club’s website, expressing mixed emotions about leaving Spurs, a club he has been associated with for half of his life, but also conveyed his excitement to begin a new chapter with his new team in Finland, stating, “I can’t wait to get started.

Having progressed through Tottenham’s youth ranks and featured prominently for their U21 side, Lyons-Foster has showcased his versatility, talent and leadership qualities.

He made 99 appearances for them in Premier League 2, scoring 2 and assisting 3.

Additionally, Lyons-Foster even earned a place in Tottenham’s senior squad as a substitute for two matches during the 2021-2022 season, however, he could not impress his way into the first-team.
