Exclusive: Club will find it hard to keep Arsenal transfer target this summer, says expert

Fabrizio Romano has responded to Wolves manager Gary O’Neil playing down the prospect of star player Pedro Neto leaving the club in the summer transfer window.

The talented young Portuguese winger is enjoying a superb season in the Premier League, and Romano has previously told us about links with Arsenal and how he thinks he could be an ideal signing for the Gunners as a summer move out of Molineux looks to be on the cards.

Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside again for the latest edition of his Daily Briefing column, Romano once again made it clear that he felt Wolves would struggle to keep hold of Neto this summer, whatever O’Neil might say.

Wolves fans won’t be too happy to hear this, but it could be hugely encouraging for Arsenal fans, while one imagines there’ll be other clubs put on alert by this update.

Pedro Neto in action for Wolves

Neto is surely too good not to be playing for a big six side, or another top league in Europe, but it seems that Romano expects the 23-year-old could be staying in England.

“Despite what Wolves manager Gary O’Neil said, I think it’s going to be very difficult to keep Pedro Neto at Wolves next summer, this is my feeling,” Romano said.

“He’s appreciated by many clubs, he could stay in Premier League but move to top, top club in the summer.”
