Neymar is set to commit his future to Santos and sign a new contract according to talkSport.

The player’s father delivered the news that will disappoint the managers of many of the world’s elite clubs.

The wonderkid has been attracting interest from the likes of PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City but it appears the player is set for an extended stay in Brazil.

Bayern Munich were reported to have offered a staggering £80 million in an attempt to secure the player’s signature but it seems that was not enough to persuade Santos to sell.

It had been widely expected that Neymar would stay with the Brazilian club until at least the end of the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 but reports are suggesting this new contract would commit the player to the club even further beyond that date.

‘Santos have now offered us a deal for him to renew his contract, but we will have to wait and talk to them’, said Neymar’s father.

‘It is very difficult to see him leaving before 2014 although we will have to think about what is best for him.’

Neymar is set to become one of the stars of next year’s World Cup with his mazy dribbling, clinical finishing and trademark Mohawk haircut.
