Swans boss admits concern over Williams exit rumours.

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has admitted he fears he could lose captain Ashley Williams this summer according to The Daily Mirror.

The centre-back has been in fine form this season for the Welsh side as he has led his team to League Cup victory following a 5-0 victory over Bradford at Wembley.

Swansea are also set for a top half finish in the Premier League but Laudrup fears the price of his club’s success could be the departure of some of his key players during the summer transfer window.

Reports in recent weeks have linked the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool with a summer bid for Williams.

‘When there are rumours about these clubs wanting someone from here, it is because the player has done well’, said Laudrup.

‘What can I do? I can’t call Arsenal and say ‘Is it true?’ I don’t think Arsene Wenger would answer.

‘We will have to live with these stories – it’s part of the game – but it means people have seen what we have done here.

‘Ashley has had a great season. He and Chico [Flores] have been a great pair. They are doing great together and I will be unhappy to lose that pairing for next season.’
