Brazilian striker Diego Costa is happy to stay with La Liga club Atletico Madrid amid rumours of interest from Arsenal, according to ESPN.

The 24-year-old has impressed for the Spanish outfit this season after several spells out on loan from the club. He recently earned a call up to the Brazilian national team and has attracted interest from some bigger teams.

Arsenal are known to be on the lookout for a new striker this summer, having been linked with the likes of Christian Benteke and David Villa to aid their problems upfront, since the likes of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski have been somewhat inconsistent in their first seasons with the club.

Atletico Madrid face the prospect of losing star player Radamel Falcao this summer, as a flood of bids are expected to come in from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, so they will welcome this commitment from Costa.

Asked about rumours of a move away from Atletico, he said: “I am working so that I grow and improve every day. There are great players here and I want to fight to be in the first XI. I hope to keep growing here. At Atleti.”

Arsenal have also been linked with Costa’s Atletico team-mate Joao Miranda, as a defender is also a target for the Gunners this summer.
