Arsenal are ready to make an approach for Manchester United winger Nani according to The Metro.

The Portuguese winger is thought to be considering his future at the club and is set to make a decision in the coming days.

It is understood that Nani has grown increasingly frustrated with his marginalised role at Old Trafford following the previous campaign.

Previous manager Sir Alex Ferguson grew frustrated with the player’s inconsistent performances which led to the Scotman adopting a more narrow midfield formation.

That saw Nani spend a lot of time on the bench and with the World Cup finals just around the corner, it is thought that Nani is keen to secure more first team football.

That could persuade United boss to allow the player to leave as he has just one year remaining on his current deal. New United boss David Moyes may well decide to cash in on the player now rather than risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.

That could pave the way for a move to the Emirates Stadium with Arsene Wenger thought to be an admirer of the player. It is understood that United want a fee in the region of £8.5 million for a player they paid £17 million for in 2007.
