Arsenal have set their sights firmly on Man United striker Javier Hernandez as the man to add much needed strength in depth to the Gunners attack according to the Daily Mail.

The North London club have been overly dependent on French forward Olivier Giroud, who has managed to score in just one of his last ten Arsenal appearances, and boss Arsene Wenger is widely plotting a move in January to boost his attacking options.

However with efforts to land Luis Suarez looking remote a move for the 25 year old Mexican is perhaps the most realistic option in January, with David Moyes perhaps ready to consider decent offers for the bit-part player.

Hernandez has started just three Premier League fixtures this season but is a proven goal-scorer for the Old Trafford side having netted 54 goals in 132 appearances for Man United, a statistic that is all the more impressive when you consider 53 of those appearances came from the bench.

A chance to re-ignite his career at the Emirates Stadium may well interest in Chicharito though one wonders just how willing Man United would be to sell to a direct Premier League rival.
