Newcastle United are set to go head to head with both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign out-of-favour Manchester United wide man Wilfried Zaha this summer, according to reports in the Daily Star.

The England international has just finished a six-month loan spell with struggling Cardiff City, where Zaha could not help prevent the Bluebirds from being relegated to the Championship though.

Zaha could manage to contribute just the one assist in total in his 10 Premier League outings for the South Wales outfit and has since returned to his parent club at Old Trafford, where the 21-year-old will await the arrival of new Red Devils head coach Louis van Gaal later this summer.

But while it is expected that the experienced Dutch trainer will want to take Zaha with him on the club’s pre-season tour of the US, the winger’s future at the Theatre of Dreams is far from certain, especially with a trio of Premier League clubs all now lining up to swoop for the player.

And the Magpies are said to be hopeful of beating both the Gunners and Spurs to land Zaha in a cut-price deal this summer.
