Vidal has been offered a five year contract worth €8m (£6.3m) a season according to the Gazzetta dello Sport

Juventus has been hoping to secure £32m from the sale of the Chilean but the Independent suggest that Japanese international Shinji Kagawa could be offered to the Turin based side in a part exchange deal.

Man United completed the signing of Angel di Maria for a British transfer record fee of £59.7m and had already secured the captures of Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo but seemingly Louis van Gaal’s spending is not over.

Vidal would offer some guile and attacking verve in the Man United midfield and having secure three successive Serie A titles the former Bayer Leverkusen man may be ready for a fresh challenge, not least as boss Antonio Conte has recently left the club.

The 27 year old has played a pivotal role in those domestic successes, netting 28 goals in 95 Serie A appearances, but his side’s inability to ‘crack’ the Champions League may prove another motivating factor to hasten a move to Man United.
