The 26 year old Belgian midfield powerhouse is currently sidelined with injury and had a poor debut season following his £27.5m move to Man United and could perhaps be tempted by a move back to Everton.

Whilst it may be fair to state that Fellaini’s cause wasn’t helped by the insistence of David Moyes to use him in an unfamiliar holding role the arrivals of Ander Herrera and Daley Blind may well have all but ended his hopes of playing a key role under new boss Louis van Gaal.

Roberto Martinez may well be keen to bring in Fellaini to help cause real problems for opposition defences, especially as his side is struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table.

Fellaini was something of a cult hero at Everton and would surely be welcomed back with open arms.

The former Standard Liege man made 177 appearances for the Merseyside outfit and netted 33 goals.
