The 28-year-old has missed the last three matches against Chelsea, Manchester City, and Crystal Palace, and was also not selected for the Colombia national team squad.

The forward was also given a boost by his national team manager. Jose Pekerman said that he will be back to full fitness soon, and that he will be one of the best players the Red Devils will ever have.

“There is no doubt he is in optimal condition,” he told reporters. “He’s recovered very successfully. He did everything perfectly. This is a small muscular injury, it is different to the knee injury before the World Cup.

“He’s in a good condition and could be ready for Arsenal. He hasn’t even started yet. He will be one of the best players Manchester United have had and will break a lot of records in England.”

Louis van Gaal will be pleased to have Falcao back in the fold as he attempts to manage an injury crisis at the Old Trafford club. As well as Falcao, nine other players are currently carrying injuries. Just during the international break Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, and David De Gea all picked up problems.

The Colombian is on loan from AS Monaco, and a permanent move from the club could be put in doubt if he continues to suffer from fitness problems. With a long time left in the season though, he has a while to prove that he can overcome them.
