Man United Injury Update: Van Gaal Rules Up To Four Players Out Of Tottenham Hotspur Clash

Van Gaal had some bad news following victory over Newcastle United.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal may have seen his side ease to a Boxing Day victory over Newcastle United today, with the Red Devils helped by a goalscoring display from central midfield by captain Wayne Rooney, but the Dutchman had some less positive news for supporters following the game after he updated on the injury status of four United players, according to reports on Twitter from Manchester Evening News reporter Rob Dawson.

Van Gaal confirmed that Belgian midfield duo Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj would both be missing for the upcoming fixture against Tottenham Hotspur after suffering from a virus, news that will come as a blow to United as the hectic festive fixture schedule shows no sign of letting up.

Perhaps even more concerning is news about Angel di Maria, however, with reports breaking before kick off about a hip problem being suffered by the United record signing that seem to have been confirmed by Dawson post-match – the sooner United get the Argentine back the better as far as the Red Devils concerned, with di Maria having been excellent this season.

Marcos Rojo will also be missing for the Tottenham Hotspur game, it would appear, as well as the upcoming FA Cup third round fixture against Yeovil Town at Huish Park, with the Argentina defender apparently ‘two weeks’ away from a return.
